People link up with a personal coach for a wide variety of reasons.
As Withworth, Kimsey-House and Sandahl say,

happen. The coach is there while they work on the mechanisms of
their life - handing them the tools, holding the light, so that
they can see what needs to be done and have both hands free to do

Coaching is not about fixing the broken leg. It is about how I
can make the leg move better, more effectively and faster. Coaching
is about looking at what hinders excellence and potential and moving
through and beyond it. Coaching is about actively transforming our
behaviours, habits and actions to get the results we want.

A good coach knows how to get people to come to their own answers.
To be proactive in being clear, identifying the actions and in following
through. The coach provides the process for change but the individual
creates their own change.
